Welcome to AlpServer.ch

In 1291, among the high valleys and narrow passes of the Alps, the first bonds of the Swiss Confederation were formed. In the generations that followed, the legend of William Tell came to embody the spirit of those mountain communities: independent, determined, and unwilling to surrender their freedom. Tell’s story was not merely one of the famous arrow, but of a people whose identity had been shaped by stone, snow and steep horizons.

The Swiss did not simply live beneath the mountains. They learned to understand them. Parents taught their children to read the weather, respect the slopes and find safe passage through the valleys. Each generation inherited the knowledge of the one before it. Roads crossed seemingly impossible terrain. Tunnels were driven through solid rock. Fortresses, railways, dams and hidden chambers were built within the mountains themselves. Even in times of war, the Alps became both shield and sanctuary.

Over the centuries, the Swiss idea of protection evolved. What had once meant guarding a valley or defending a mountain pass came to mean protecting something less visible: trust. Switzerland became known for discretion, banking secrecy and the careful safeguarding of private affairs. In the modern age, wealth was no longer the only thing that required protection. Personal information, digital records and the memories of entire communities also needed a secure home.

And so the old purpose of the mountains found a new form.

Where stone once protected villages, it now protects machines. Where guarded vaults once held gold and documents, secure servers now preserve knowledge and data. Deep within the quiet strength of the Alps, the ancient Swiss tradition continues: what is entrusted to the mountain is kept safe.

AlpServer stands within that tradition — shaped by the mountains, built on trust, and dedicated to protecting the digital lives placed in its care.
